In the context of economic globalization and regional integration, the development of cold regions has global significance and international impact on the common destiny of human survival and development. Buildings, dams, highways, railways, and other infrastructure have been developed rapidly in permafrost and seasonally frozen regions in the past several decades, which prompts the need to establish an international platform to exhibit the latest technological advancements in cold regions development.
The International Symposium on Cold Regions Development (ISCORD) is generally held every three years with the main focus on issues related to development activities in cold regions and is organized by the International Association for Cold Regions Development Studies (IACORDS). The objective of IACORDS is to promote research and higher education in cold regions. Till now, ISCORD has been successfully held 12 times, and the 13th ISCORD will be held on July 14-16, 2023, in Harbin, China. The symposium provides a platform to showcase the latest development in research, planning, design, engineering, construction, and operation in cold regions. Detailed information regarding the symposium can be found: http://en.iscord2022-harbin.cn.

The selected papers of this symposium will be published in the journal of Sciences in Cold and Arid Regions.
Submission Process: SCAR operates an online submission and rigorous peer review system. To submit a manuscript, please visit SCAR Homepage www.scar.ac.cn or directly enter https://mc03.manuscriptcentral.com/scars. As a double-blind peer-review journal, manuscript files without personal information are required to be uploaded as 'main documents', manuscript title pages with personal information are required to be uploaded as 'title page'. The Submission Column “ISCORD 2023” should be chosen to gain quick publishing access. The signed Copyright Transfer Form (Download on Journal’s Home Page) should be scanned and uploaded as 'Supplementary files not for review' via the online submission of your article. Submission of a manuscript will be held to imply that it contains original unpublished work and has not yet been submitted elsewhere.
